Mt. Baker Places Grocery & gas Maple Falls, WA
Crossroads Grocery
Best-stocked small grocery on the highway — produce, meat, beer cave, ice, firewood

If you skipped the big grocery run in Bellingham, this is where you fix it. Crossroads sits right at the Maple Falls crossroads — Mt. Baker Highway at Silver Lake Road — and it’s the best-stocked small grocery on this stretch of the highway. It has served Maple Falls for over eight years, and reviewers keep saying what we tell guests: the range is a genuine surprise for a store this size.
We send people here for forgotten staples, and for the two things every cabin stay eventually runs out of: ice and firewood. It’s 15 minutes from the Black Cedar and about 3 from the Little Red Cabin — far closer than driving back down the highway for anything.
What they stock
- Grocery staples, produce, meat and fish, and dairy
- Beer and wine, including a beer cave
- Bulk natural and organic foods, plus gluten-free items
- Household goods, hardware, and health and beauty basics
- Ice and dry campfire wood
Good to know
- Opens at 7am daily. Closing times vary by source (8pm most nights, possibly later on weekends) — call ahead if you’re cutting it close.
- No propane here that we can confirm. The Maple Fuels station directly across the street carries it — and it’s the last gas before the mountain. Details in our no-gas-in-Glacier services guide.
