Glacier Ice Cream
Summer only, roughly June–Sept
A tiny summer scoop stand next to Glacier Ski Shop — if the sign's out, stop
The honest part first: we can’t promise this stand is scooping on any given day. It’s a tiny seasonal operation with no website, no posted phone, and no reliable hours. Reviewers confirmed it running through summer 2025, but we haven’t found first-party confirmation for 2026, and one visitor last July found it shuttered midday with nothing posted. Treat it as a bonus when the sign is out, not a destination.
It’s worth knowing about anyway, because it’s the only dedicated scoop spot left on the corridor. Graham’s in downtown Glacier — longtime home of the bigger-than-your-head scoops — closed in March 2025 and hasn’t reopened. This stand sits in the Glacier Ski Shop lot at 9966 Mt Baker Hwy; watch for the ‘Ice Cream’ sign off the highway and the row of colorful skis lining the parking lot. The ice cream is made with local dairy: single scoops on sugar cones, doubles on waffle cones, and flavors that have included coconut, cappuccino chip, and mango.
If the stand is dark, your fallbacks are freezer cases, not counters — Crossroads Grocery in Maple Falls carries ice cream with the groceries. The corridor’s other dessert options live inside the restaurants on our where to eat page.
Know before you go
- Peak season is roughly June through September; hours are informal and unposted
- No phone or website — there’s genuinely no way to call ahead
- Shares the lot with Glacier Ski Shop, so you can pair it with a gear errand
