Fill up here. This is the last gas before the mountain — there is no fuel in Glacier and none at the ski area, and from this pump it’s roughly 25 miles and 3,000 feet of climbing to the lifts and back. We tell every guest the same thing: whatever the gauge says, top off at the Maple Falls crossroads on your way up.

One quirk worth knowing: don’t navigate by brand. Locals and the operator call it Maple Fuels Shell, while the fuel directories currently list it as a Chevron — sources genuinely disagree on the signage. Ignore the logo and look for the station at the corner of Mt. Baker Highway and Silver Lake Road, directly across the street from Crossroads Grocery.

Beyond the pumps it’s a working convenience stop: a deli, restrooms, an air pump, and the small emergency and hardware items cabin trips have a way of requiring.

What they stock

  • Gasoline (regular, midgrade, premium), diesel, and propane
  • Deli food and convenience-store basics
  • Emergency and hardware odds and ends
  • Restrooms and an air pump — worth a tire check before winter chain-up zones

Good to know

  • Reported hours: 6:30am to 8pm most days, to 10pm Friday and Saturday — call to confirm.
  • If you’re low coming up the highway, the Mobil in Kendall (7519 Kendall Rd) also sells gas, diesel, and propane — but Maple Fuels is the farthest-up fuel. More in our Glacier services guide.
